Pave the Way! Buy a Brick

For those who would like to put their support for the renovation of Pride Park etched in stone, we offer something quite close: engraved, commemorative bricks that will be placed within the Southpoint Playground and Community Recreation Area! Perhaps you have seen bricks like these in the downtown area or on other playgrounds. These bricks will be used to make a walkway to and around the new playground. This is a great way to celebrate a birthday, special teacher/class, anniversary, or an accomplishment! Bricks bearing your name, your family's name, or the message of your choice can be purchased for either $50 or $100. An art symbol can be added for an additional $10.00. This fabulous fundraiser needs some help and organization to get off the ground, are you the one to make this happen? Southpoint residents can submit their recipes to SouthpointPlayground@yahoo.com to create the first Southpoint Cookbook with favorite family recipes to share among neighbors! Kids can also submit their cookbook playground-themed cover art idea to SouthpointPlayground@yahoo.com to enter the Cover Decoration Contest! The winner gets their art printed on the cookbook cover! (A volunteer is needed to compile the recipes into a book by separate categories, including soups, salads, entrees, deserts, 30-minute recipes, kids stuff, etc.) We will take orders for the cookbooks at SouthpointPlayground@yahoo.com, and sell them for approximately $10-15.

In the springtime, we will pick a date where the Subdivision can have a neighborhood-wide garage sale, and the sale will be advertised in the newspapers. Each resident wishing to enter the sale should simply put their things in their own driveway and attend their own items and attach a balloon to their mailbox, signifying that they are involved in the sale. Balloons will be available at the front of the subdivision on the day of the sale. Donations from the sale to help benefit the Southpoint Playground and Community Recreation Area are greatly appreciated, anything will help!!! Volunteers to post signs directing people to Southpoint, to submit the newspaper ad, to pass out balloons, etc. are needed!! Just come by and drop off your donation to a volunteer in the front of the subdivision after the sale!!
