Board of
Directors 2008 Board Members:
Architectural Control Committee
Volunteers:
Effective 2009, in accordance with Bylaws, Amendment No. 8, Article 4, Board of Directors, Selection and Term of Office, the affairs of the Association will be managed by a board of five (5) directors who shall be members of the association. Each director shall serve a term of three (3) years. The Architectural Control Committee consists of three (3) members. These three members can be Board members, although this is not a requirement to be on the ACC. How can you make a difference? One is to volunteer and become an active member in the HOA. After all, this is YOUR neighborhood and community. To become a Board member, nominations are voted on at the January Annual Meeting. The Officers of the Board are determined at the Board's first official meeting after the Annual Meeting by the Board. The Board of Directors have the power to fill the vacancies on the Board and ACC as needed. When a vacancy is present, in following the precedence initiated in 2006, it is requested that interested new members to the Board attend two (2) consecutive Board meetings so they can experience first hand the projects, duties, responsibilities, and roles that a position on the Board requires. It is after attending these two meetings that the decision is then readdressed with the interested member. If the member is still willing to volunteer and commit their time, talents, skills, experience, and efforts to being on the Board, a motion is made, and a and vote is taken by the Board of Directors. This is a fair way and unbinding way to allow members to observe directly the responsibility and activities they will be involved in, and whether they are up to the commitment and time it takes to serve on the Board. While it is not a full-time job, it is one that requires time and dedication. There is no way to estimate how much of your time would be needed, as it depends on circumstance, problems, and situations as they arise and can vary from month-to-month. Don’t feel you have enough experience, background, time or resources? Then why not consider being a volunteer? This will greatly aid the Board when situations arise and volunteers are needed. You can give of your time, talents or abilities as much or as little as you are able. Consider becoming actively involved. Please contact the Board in writing either at southpointboard@gmail.com or at the post office address. P. O. Box 1496, Denham Springs, LA, 70727-1496. Telephone messages can be left at 610-9578. We look forward to working with all the residents and are committed to helping make South Point Subdivision a great place to live! |
